Generally our seven basic saddle pad patterns (General Purpose, Close Contact, Pessoa-Style Close Contact, Dressage, Long Dressage, Event and Cross Country) will fit the majority of the saddles. In addition to these basic styles, we have some patterns for different models and brands, so please don't hesitate to ask if we have the one you are looking for. Occasionally, it will be necessary to make a tracing for us so we can custom fit a saddle pad to meet your needs. We are happy to do so and ask that you follow these guidelines to insure proper fit. #1 Put one or two western pads on a saddle rack to help simulate a horse's back. #2 Put a large piece of paper over the western pads (butcher or kraft paper works best) and then place saddle on top. #3 Pull the paper up in the gullet of the saddle so that it is touching the inside of the gullet at the very front of the saddle. This is very important for proper fit. #4 Mark the center of the gullet and the cantle on the paper. Trace the outline of one side of the saddle only so that the line meets the center marks for the gullet and cantle. Hold the pen or pencil perpendicular to the saddle and trace the exact outline very carefully. Show outline of saddle only. - Do not try to compensate for seam or "show" allowance. We will do this. #5 Mark position for billet and girth straps. #6 Give the model and brand of the saddle along with the seat size. Indicate if saddle pad is to be used for show, trail riding, endurance, general use, etc. #7 Send tracing in a large envelope with your order specifying last name, material, color, etc. Allow extra time for delivery. |
