We have developed a new splitter. It is constructed
every bit as well as our cutter-beveller tool. It should last
a lifetime. We bought and tested several other models from other
suppliers. None of them performed in a satisfactory manner, except
the old Osborne like we both own. However, with the Osborne costing
well over $500 now...we thought it was much too expensive for
most braiders.
Our new tool is manufactured from aluminum, steel and polycarbonate.
The nicest feature/benefit is that it uses 4 inch disposable
blades. (We were unable to find disposable blades that were sharp
enough that were 5 or 6 inches). The blades can be purchased
from any local hardware store, or Home Depot, etc. A pack of
5 blades costs just a few dollars. We include one pack with each
initial order, along with instructions and our traditional full
money back guarantee 30 day trial. The real advantages of our
tool are: uses inexpensive disposable razor sharp blades...so
the user always has a real sharp blade to split with, fine adjustment
knob lets you adjust thickness, fast opening handles to open
roller away from blade, and it can be mounted on a bench or table
using screws or just c-clamps...depending on the customers needs.
It weighs about 6 pounds. In our opinion, it is the nicest tool
in the market for this price. The quality and performance are
definitely superior to all the competitors tools we tested. |
