Redwood Ride I July 19, 2008 Note: Entries limited to 60 riders

The Redwood Empire Endurance Riders invite you to join them at this year's Redwood Ride at the Orick, CA Rodeo Grounds, north of Eureka, CA, 45 minutes up the coastline of scenic Highway 101. Mornings and evenings are often cool and misty. Days are pleasantly warm and sometimes breezy.

No open fires.

This ride is held in the spectacular Redwood National Park. It consists of 85% pristine trail, much of it through gigantic old-growth redwood forest, and 15% on old logging roads. The ride will climb from sea level in camp to around 1,000 feet. Vet checks will be out of base camp. So, most riders will be away from camp for the duration of their ride. The ride staging area is in Orick CA at the Rodeo Grounds. Follow Highway 101 through the center of town. Coming from the south, before the Redwood Creek bridge, turn right and follow the road to the Rodeo Grounds. Coming from the north, after the Redwood Creek bridge, turn left and follow the road to the Rodeo Grounds.

Ride Rules:
The Redwood Ride will comply with all AERC and REER ride rules.   AERC helmet rule for juniors will apply.

Ride Camp:
Opens at noon, Friday, July 18, and closes at noon, Sunday, July 20. For additional camping, contact Orick Chamber of Commerce at 707-488-2885. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

Food:
Dinner at the awards banquet on Saturday night will be provided for all entrants starting about 6 PM. Extra meal tickets are $12.00.

Entry Fees:
50 miles - $90.00 Includes completion certificate, state drug & AERC fees. Deduct $10 if entry postmarked by July 13, 2008.

25 miles - $75.00 Includes completion certificate, state drug & AERC fees. Deduct $10 if entry postmarked by July 13, 2008.

10 miles - $35.00 includes completion certificate & state drug fees. Deduct $10 if entry postmarked by July 13, 2008.

Special Notes:
25 and 50 milers must show proof of current AERC membership or pay $15.00 AERC non-member fee. Send photocopy with entry application.
*** Junior riders (16 years and under) may ride for $45.00 - 50 mile or LD!
*** $5.00 discount on entry for 2007 REER members (excluding juniors).

Refund Policy:
Complete refund if notified by July 16, 2008. $15 non-refundable fee thereafter. Complete refund for failure to pass pre-ride veterinary check. Checks will be cashed after the ride.
